From September 27th to the 30th, some of the most sought-after producers are taking over Mulberry Mountain in Arkansas. The long-awaited Wakaan Music Festival lineup has been announced, securing artists like Ahee, Peekaboo, Ravenscoon, and more. The weekend is packed with dubstep, freeform, and experimental bass.
In 2015, Martin Stääf, also known as Liquid Stranger, founded the record label, Wakaan, showcasing creators from a variety of genres, primarily focused on experimental bass. The first Wakaan Music Festival occurred just four years ago and has exploded into an impactful label housing many innovative artists. This year’s installment is following its path of inviting rising and established musicians to throw down.
A Hundred Drums, Hydraulix, INZO, Komuz, Rusko, Sippy, and Xotix are starting the weekend off strong during the pre-party on September 27th. Buku b2b G-Rex and Saka b2b Black Carl! is also going down, along with a performance from founder Liquid Stranger. Record labels Dirtybird and SSKWAN are also taking over the stages over.
After the pre-party, WAKAAN Music Festival is welcoming dubstep artists like GRiZ, Hairitage, Eazybaked, and Drinkurwater. Jantsen, Luzcid, and Champagne Drip are also bringing the wubs. LSDream and INZO are coming together for one of the only back-to-backs of the weekend. Of course, Liquid Stranger is gracing attendees with his wonky bass twice over the weekend.
Experimental producers Canabliss, Atyya, Tape B, and The Widdler are on the lineup along with bass artists Eprom, LYNY, and Opiuo. Barnacle Boi, Curra, and Jon Casey are bringing their beats and Mersiv is playing a Slowdown set. On the other side of electronic music, house legend Claude VonStroke is performing as well as house producer, Dr. Fresch, who is changing it up with a drum and bass set.
On top of the already stacked lineup, Tripp St., Zeke Beats, and Distinct Motive are playing, along with Mary Droppinz, Duffrey, and Keota. From Skeler to Super Future to Machinedrum, WAAKAN Festival has a ton of artists perfect for bass music lovers. The full lineup is on WAKAAN’s official festival website.
Passes for the three-day festival are going quickly, so be sure to get yours here. While we wait for more information on WAKAAN Music Festival to drop, listen to “Liquid Stranger’s WAKAAN Weekly Playlist” below. See you on the mountain!
