At Alison Wonderland’s set this weekend, she dropped an upcoming remix that she and Subtronics have been working on. The Australian musician played about a minute of their remix which was received well by fans, excited about the bass icons coming together.
About a week ago, the two teased that they had a collaboration in the future on Twitter with Alison Wonderland posting a screenshot of them on Facetime. Despite not officially releasing anything together before, they did mention working together back in 2020.
The original hard techno track, “Push Up” by Creeds, is dynamic on its own with energetic drops and a 90s feel. The duo keeps the same vibes, adding drum and bass drops, Subtronics’ wonky bass, and a bass-filled trap section – one of Alison Wonderland’s favorite parts of the remix. She captioned her video on TikTok with, “This was sooooo fun to make and play!!! Im so hype on the trap section at the end. Thank you @EDC.”
Neither producer is a stranger to experimenting with bass music. Alison Wonderland has recently been blazing through the scene with her project Whyte Fang and Subtronics has always been open to pushing boundaries. Both artists released their first tracks in 2014 and are monumental in the future of electronic music.
Along with their remix, this year’s EDC has been full of surprises so far. Alison Wonderland absolutely killed her set at nine months pregnant and dropped an ID with Valentino Khan. The night after her set, Subtronics brought John Summit out for a surprise back-to-back.
With Alison Wonderland preparing to begin a family and Subtronics breaking records all while playing legendary festivals, 2023 has been an incredible year for both of them. We are hoping to receive more updates on the remix soon, but until then, listen to Creeds’ song, “Push Up,” here:
