SLANDER, blackbear, and Bring Me The Horizon are Collaborating

At the end of March, SLANDER revealed on Twitter that they made a song with blackbear and Oli Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon, bringing four talented musicians together for a track that is sure to bring the heat. The time has finally come and “Wish I Could Forget” is dropping this Friday.

The drop has been a long time coming, SLANDER noted. The duo wrote, “We have been working on this song for over a year to make this happen,” expressing their excitement and the amount of work that they have put into it. Despite them coming from three different genres, the intersection of electronic music with pop and alternative is not new and leaves room for a potentially massive single.

Derek Andersen and Scott Land, also known as SLANDER, are two powerhouses in electronic music. The producers have been perfecting their future bass and heaven trap since 2014 and released some of the most well-known melodic dubstep tracks like “First Time” and “Potions.” Their songs tend to lean towards the sad side, describing breakups and heartaches – two concepts that Bring Me The Horizon and blackbear are familiar with.

Oli Sykes broke out in the rock band, Bring Me The Horizon, over two decades ago, hitting the rock scene hard and eventually going on to experiment in other metal and pop-leaning genres. blackbear began around the same time, releasing his first EP in 2008. Known for his combination of rap, alternative, and R&B, the artist has co-written top-charting songs for other artists and won a number of awards himself.

SLANDER is playing huge festivals through the rest of the summer and Bring Me The Horizon is also touring through August. An official list of their upcoming shows can be found on their official websites.

The collaboration is SLANDER’s first release since 2022 when they released “Picture” with Alison Wonderland and Said The Sky. Their newest song, “Wish I Could Forget” is out Friday May 19th, and available to pre-save here. Until then, listen to “Picture”:
