With a simple tweet reading, “QFF/DGTC 23,” Skrillex has sent the electronic music community into a frenzy and single handedly started 2023 with a bang.

The announcement of two new projects came shortly after his Instagram was wiped and his profile picture was updated. The tweet was accompanied by a video featuring Skrillex’s original logo.

He kicked off the new year by going b2b with ISOxo in San Diego last night.

The iconic dubstep producer has helped shape the genre into what it is today and aided in popularizing dubstep in the United States. Despite this, Skrillex has only released one solo album. Recess dropped nine years ago in 2014.

In 2022, he pulled out of two festivals to continue working on his albums.

Skrillex released only three songs in 2022. The three singles have gained a combined total of over 7.5 million streams on Spotify. “Horizon” and “Supersonic (VIP)” experiments with drum and bass. His collaboration with 100 gecs, “Torture Me,” combines hyperpop with deep bass and sporadic drops.

No other details about Skrillex’s upcoming releases have been announced, but we are hoping that more information is soon to come.
