RL Grime recently has generated a whirlwind of announcement buzz. On Monday, he wiped his Instagram and proceeded to announce the release of his new single ‘Pour Your Heart Out’ with 070 Shake, which dropped today.
‘Pour Your Heart Out’ is the latest chilling yet explosive heater from the king of trap music. It serves as his latest cinematic trap banger that delivers that visceral, room-swallowing build and release that only RL Grime can provide.
The nocturnal ambience of 070 Shake’s cadence fuses effortlessly with the dark, creeping undertones of RL Grime’s signature production style. Their confluence in the bridge and hook steadily builds to its peak, which is then unleashed with two soaring drops. If this is the first album single, it’s a hell of a kickoff.
Considering the Insta wipe and this subsequent song drop, all signs point to this being the beginning of a new album campaign. If so, it would serve as welcome news to fans and the industry as a whole.
This would be RL Grime’s third studio album, following in the footsteps of the extremely well received NOVA, which dropped in 2018, and his debut album VOID, which served as his stamp of arrival in 2014.
Time will tell on the new album, but the optics are promising.
