John Summit, Sub Focus, and Julia Church Collab On “Go Back”

After teasing the song for a month, John Summit and Sub Focus have released “Go Back” with Julia Church. The producers’ debut collaboration blends their sounds well with a steady tempo increase and clean production. Co-written with Eddie Jenkins and Camden Cox, Julia Church has brought her powerful vocals to the orchestral track.

John Summit and Sub Focus’ styles are fused from start to finish with Jenkins on the piano and horns sounding off in the background. The catchy hook sends the song into the first melodic house drop. The tempo picks up as the song transforms into drum and bass.

John Summit played the song during his b2b with Dom Dolla at Coachella and Sub Focus played a variation at DnB Allstars in Portugal. The duo have not worked together and their pairing surprised listeners in the best way.

Fans have hyped up the collaboration and asked for it since the artists revealed its existence. Upon its release, Sub Focus wrote, “We came up with the idea of speeding up the tempo in the middle of the song between house and drum and bass, and the crowd reaction has been amazing every time we play it.”

At EDC Las Vegas this weekend, John Summit brought Sub Focus up to play the song together. The pair also went on BBC Radio 1 and discussed how “Go Back” came to be. The house DJ said that he had been a fan for a long time and that Sub Focus had already had a vision for the project.
