Dubstep legends Excision and Dion Timmer have officially released the highly-anticipated “Time Stood Still VIP” on Excision’s own label Subsidia. Packed with the producers’ classic bass and a surprise house twist, the pair are elevating the original fan-favorite. Excision made a surprise announcement on social media the day of the release, making listeners excited and catching them off guard.
Their anticipation has been validated as the VIP immediately starts with wonky, low-frequency bass followed by a classic dubstep drop complete with growls The second half of the song takes it up a notch, going into an energetic bass house drop that continues to the end.
The producers are no strangers to working together, going as far back as 2016 when they released “Africa” and “Final Boss” before dropping four more singles, a four-track EP titled Breaking Through, and their most recent collaboration in 2022, “End of the World.”
“Time Stood Still” shook the community in 2019 when it was released and has since garnered over 5 million streams on Spotify. It was an impressive combination of both of their styles and made a strong foundation for the future of their collaborations. On top of their work together, both artists put together immersive experiences for their shows and community.
With two intensely strong fanbases, Excision, and Dion Timmer’s collaborations consistently hit the marks that the dubstep community is searching for in music. On top of their work, the pair is going back-to-back at EDC Las Vegas and playing Bass Canyon in August.
