During the cold season, all dance music fans can do is daydream about their next festival and brighter, warmer days. A handful of lineups have been released for the upcoming season, each one bringing its own kind of heat we so desperately need in these winter months.

With so many festivals on your bucket list, deciding which ones to attend this year may become quite difficult with so many talented artists filling up each lineup, along with each festival’s location and all-around energy. There are many factors to consider when planning your next festival for 2023, and dissecting them and making a decision is the first step on the road to the time of your life. It’s helpful to first begin with a recap of some festival highlights from 2022.

Electric Forest (located in Michigan) proved itself a smashing success for another year and was a favorite for many, and it’s a must to check out next year if you haven’t yet. Many who have attended say they gained a life-changing experience, and the atmosphere was otherworldly. On top of that, the lineup this year is absolutely packed full of favorites from each subgenre. This has unfortunately caused the tickets to be much more expensive this year, yet many who have attended before decided to still attend, saying nothing beats the feeling of walking into the magically lit forest for the first time.

Ultra Music Festival is at the top of a lot of lists when it comes to music festival dreams. Located in Downtown Miami, Ultra always brings a unique experience with a star-studded lineup that captivates the attention of EDM fans everywhere. With all the parties that tend to follow each day of Ultra, this makes it a can’t-miss festival if you’re looking for a twenty-four-seven party with afterparties as far as the eye can see.

Electric Daisy Carnival is a must-attend for everyone in the EDM community, always bringing a lineup packed with talent and the promise of an adventure under the electric sky. Attendants of both EDC Las Vegas and Orlando have said there is nothing else like it, and it truly feels like another world. Easily one of the most popular EDM festivals, EDC doesn’t show any signs of slowing down soon with yearly attendees who are enthusiastic about others experiencing the magic.

Lost Lands located in Ohio and started by industry legend Excision has a concept and atmosphere like no other. Those who have attended believe it’s truly a transformative experience with some of the best energy out there. Lost Lands does an excellent job of keeping the love and acceptance of the EDM community preserved, as well as classic heavy dubstep. It’s no doubt everyone should take a prehistoric trip and catch some of the most sought-after dubstep sets.
