RAK is bringing mechanical bass to Cyclops Recordings with his debut EP, Organized Crime. The four-track record is his first EP ever and his first drop on Cyclops Recordings. It is reminiscent of an electronic take on the soundtrack to a mafia movie. It is appropriately titled, with each track taking on a related topic that tells a menacing story.

The first track, “SHUTUP,” eases into Organized Crime, using contrasting tones to build up the track before demanding vocals come in, setting the stage for RAK’s insane bass to take over in the first drop. The lyric, “I’m better than you and I’m better than your friends,” captures the song in just two lines. Following “SHUTUP” is “MAFIA,” a song that blends mechanical dubstep with surprising bass house breaks during the second half.

“DIE FOR THIS” is the most melodic track on the EP, but still packed with bass, followed by
“KILL ME,” which takes a sharp turn from the prior. Featuring Envious, RAK’s creation ends on a strong note with its most aggressive song, bringing the EP to a close. The producer’s range shines through this record, going from dubstep to house to melodic and future bass, it is clear that he is a force to be reckoned with.

Organized Crime follows his latest drop, “TERROR GANG” on Space Yacht Records, which has a similar sound to the four tracks. With distinctive bass and exciting tones, RAK consistently drops music that stays true to him as an artist. Before the release, he thanked everyone who has helped him with the drop in a heartwarming Tweet.

In just five years, RAK has risen in dubstep and it is hard to believe that this is his first EP. Based out of northern Virginia, RAK has created a distinct sound for himself and has been supported by artists like ATLiens, DJ Diesel, and Riot Ten, among others. Additionally, he has released music on prominent labels such as Subsidia, 40oz Cult, and others.

Although we do not know what is coming next for RAK, we can assume that it will go just as hard as his first EP does. It is an exciting milestone in the producer’s career and an exciting addition to Cyclops Recordings. Listen to Organized Crime in its entirety here:
