Last week, the prospect of Hardwell remixing “Where You Are” by John Summit began when a fan requested that he send his stems for the track to Hardwell. The iconic producer was enthusiastic about the idea, encouraging Summit to do so.
Hardwell debuted in 2002 when he signed his first record deal with Digidance before his song, “Never Knew Love,” hit the German music charts. For two decades, the producer has been shaping his style, breaking down genres, and contributing to the rise of big room house, hardstyle, and techno.
On a similar wave, John Summit has been making marks on the house scene, playing sold-out shows all over the world and releasing music that consistently makes its way to the dancefloor. “Where You Are” made its way to Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart just weeks after its release and has over 10 million streams on Spotify.
When asked for a follow-up, John Summit confirmed that he sent the stems of “Where You Are” to Hardwell, who promptly replied, “On it! Let’s do this!”. Listeners are excited about the idea of the Dutch artist putting his newer dark techno touch on the melodic song. With Hardwell’s experience, there is no saying which direction he will take the track.
While we wait for more updates on the remix, listen to “Where You Are” on every streaming platform.
