Rezz, Quackson, and Wreckno’s new track, “Gyrate” combines deep bass and ominous loops with Wreckno’s vocals. “Gyrate” is dark with much to be discovered, fitting for a release on Friday the 13th.
When the track was first announced, Rezz tweeted, “A lil fact; he sent a bunch of demos into my label and I loved the track idea so I hopped on it and then we got @wreckno to do a lil vocal on it. Happened so fast and so fun. Stoked !!!!”
Rezz first previewed the sound at Hijinx on New Year’s Eve, promising fans that the track would be released soon.
The track opens sounding like it is being transmitted from an old radio, before shifting to a crisp beat. Rezz’s mid to downtempo sound is paired with Quackson’s own bass style. Wreckno’s vocals add to the vibe of the song, successfully making a simultaneously spooky and groove-worthy song. The breakdown and ending are particularly chilling, finishing the track out with the same energy it started with.
