Over the past few years, EDM is gradually being recognized more in the larger-scale music community. It’s two artists who have been killing the game now for some time and whose accomplishments are pushing EDM into the stratosphere, further proving to the world how much this music means to so many people.
Deadmau5 and Kaskade recently played a show in Los Angeles at the Colosseum that made great waves in the music community. With their side project, Kx5, they’ve received a very positive reaction, with Escape featuring Hayla sitting at 49 million plays on Spotify. Since the day this project was announced, EDM fans have been eager to catch a Kx5 set.
December 10th will go down in music industry history as the day that Kx5 had the largest single-day concert for an electronic artist in North America ever. In addition, it is officially the largest headliner dance music event of 2022. The extreme satisfaction and response to the first few tracks Kx5 released was a tell-tale sign they’d be making history, and this news brings a great deal of excitement to the EDM community.
With direct support from euphoric house music favorite John Summit, tickets were already bound to sell out with such a legendary trio on the lineup. In addition, talented rising producers Anna Lunoe and TripleXL joined for support adding the extra magic that truly assisted the night in exceeding expectations. According to Pollstar and Billboard, the show drew in about 50,000 people and racked in 3.7 million in the process.
